Okely dokely, we’ve made the official call. The Slaid Cleaves concert has been moved indoors to the Marshwood High School Auditorium @ 260 Dow Highway (Route 236) South Berwick, Maine 03908. This place has excellent acoustics, comfy chairs and a sweet vibe. Sure, outdoors would have been nice being summer and all but hey, ya can’t win ‘em all. Don’t miss this show with James Gilmore opening at 6:30!

This week we are giving you Thursday night off. Nice of us, eh? Friday however (yes, Friday) promises to bring a couple of stellar performances to South Berwick. Hometown boy, Slaid Cleaves will take the stage at Central School for what always promises to be a fantastic evening of music. Opening for him will be James Gilmore, a recent Marshwood High graduate who’s on his way to fame and fortune as well. As a matter of fact, listen to 92.5 The River on July 22nd at 10pm to hear James Gilmore and his band, GreenerSide, on the radio for the first time! Or better yet, come on down to the Central School lawn on Friday at 6:30 pm to hear and see him live!!! Slaid takes the stage at 7pm!
***THIS JUST IN…If rain threatens our lovely outdoor music scene, we will move this show indoors to the Marshwood High auditorium on Rt. 236. We feel that this venue will suit the turnout expected for this particular show. All other shows will maintain the Federated Church as our rain backup.

Okay, so we completely lucked out with the weather conditions for the Strawberry Festival. Aside from “Lake Central” out behind the school, the conditions were grand! Now, let’s all put on our sun dancing shoes and do a little jig for a pleasant Thursday evening. That’s right, the first 2009 Hot Summer Nights concert is this Thursday, July, 2nd. Dan Blakeslee opens with Slaid Cleaves taking us into the latter part of the evening. Slaid and Dan will probably be selling their CDs at the show so don’t forget to bring some extra pocket money. ****And remember, if the darn rain doesn’t let up before Thursday, this concert will be held at Marshwood High on Rt. 236 instead of the Town Hall.****

Welcome to the 2009 season of the Hot Summer Nights Concert Series! It promises to be yet another exciting year with all of your favorite performers gracing the stage on the Central School lawn. This is our 10th Anniversary so come on down and help us celebrate! We’ll be kicking off the fun on July 2nd with South Berwick’s very own son, Slaid Cleaves. Also, the critically acclaimed Sobopalooza returns this year with more young local talent than you can shake a stick at. These kids truly rock!
Our highly qualified and diligent South Berwick booking agents are working day and night to line up more of your Thursday evening entertainment and we’ll announce new acts as soon as we can. So stay tuned to that little side bar over there on the right of this page for updates to the schedule.
